The ATO issued an important update in April 2019 regarding the GST treatment of some allied health services and particularity addressed the issue of referrals to and from other medical professionals and if the GST free status of a health service follows a referral to or from another practitioner (it doesn't generally - each practitioner needs to determine the GST status of the health service they are providing to the patient separate to the service and GST treatment of the referring or referred providers GST coding of their own health service).
